I planned to do more number of transactios, so I guess something which offers less money per transaction would be better

Depends on what you are trading, and how much cash you are playing with.

For small timers trading stocks, Firstrade has better rates.
For small timers trading options, Ameritrade has better rates.
For those with more money, TradeStation is BY FAR the best for anything you are trading as long as you use their service to execute your trades.

Scott trade is the one I use and have not been disappointed YET !
