I am going to put a slightly spin on this question. I DO believe that there are parallel universes. There are at least as many universes as there are people and possibly as many universes as there are living things. We each experience a different universe, but they all exist at the same time. Our "Universe" is what we experience (see, hear, smell, taste, feel, and any other undocumented sense). THAT is where parallel universes come into their own, and THAT is where relativity comes into play. My universe starts with me where I am and ends "out there somewhere". I will never get to experience the end, because wherever I am will always be the start of my universe.

i'm questioning a thank you to condense this into words. ok, nicely; i assume the superb approach is to apply a ruler called time. What all of us understand is in basic terms a concentration element which we call now. The previous is something solidified via our observations. The parallel universes you talk of contain the imeadiate destiny in a quasi-actual state. The prolonged destiny in basic terms achievable. feels like philosophic dribble yet recommend a distinctive ruler, and it nevertheless works alongside an analogous path.

The latest theory in physics (String theory) theorizes that such parallel universes exist. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_theory for instance.

I tend to put parallel universes into the same brain location as time travel - extremely thought provoking and interesting to ponder - but, unfortunately, equally unlikely.

Multiverse is possible in string theory and that is gaining more acceptance every day.
