Some families are just close.
As for me I can tolerate my inlaws in small doses. Its good they live a couple of hours away.

I played second fiddle to my mother in law for 30 years. Stop it now or it get worse. Once a week is enough. Call them and talk to them every day for 10 minutes. Your husband took his vows to be with you not his family. Now, if the family is sick , help out, but more than that is enough. Ask him who you are married to him or his family. Since he has brothers take turns visiting. You need a life with out the in laws.

wait, let me get this straight- you HAVE to go to the inlaws? If you don't have any say in the matter, you dug your own grave a long time ago, and you were buried already. If simply not going is not an option, you need to cut the leash.

That's just awful. I see my in laws every few weeks, but I'd much prefer to see them about once a year. They are a bunch of crazy Greeks who whine about everything and create unnecessary drama. I love my hubby but his family is something else!!!

That's too much for me. One dinner I could barely tolerate let alone 3 a week. I'd say no and stay home. If my spouse got mad, then so be it. They can go but I'm not.

10 minutes is too much. i'm not kidding.
i'd put up with only once a month. at least at their house anyway. if they want to visit more, they can come over to my house.

.... you all need to decide when to visit.... without upsetting the fabric of your own lives/plans.
If it's once or twice a month then that's what you do.

no, tell him to tell his wife that its enough.
he wants to spend time with his wife and kids instead of her family all the time.
