Just get some colored paper or colored card stock paper.
I just got some free jello jiggler shapes I may use; a tree, reindeer, star, etc.
Maybe pay a visit to a craft shop and see all the new things out.
On a pbs craft show, I saw a template of circles, and a handy thing for cutting around to cut it out. Use it to make windows. Just start and you'll get ideas as you go along.

I just recently saw these things called 'glass cards' its like a card sized piece of smooth glass that you can personalize (engrave/etch) yourself with a kit you can buy at a craft store! They are cheap to make and really cute/elegant!
