To get an article published in any magazine you need to write for their guidelines and ask if they publish new writers or freelance writers. Some publications don't, some only a few a year. You need the guidelines for proper form and length. There is alot more information you need to publish even an article I recommend you find a copy of The Best of the Magazine Markets for Writers 2006. It has a lot of very important information about copy write, payment, submissions etc. Good luck!

From Reader's Digest submission page:
"Original articles are generally assigned to regular contributors to Reader's Digest magazine. We do not accept or return unpublished manuscripts.
We do, however, accept brief queries (up to 2,500 characters) that clearly detail the article idea -- with special emphasis on the arc of the story, your interview access to the main characters, your access to special documents, etc. We look for dramatic narratives, articles about everyday heroes, crime dramas, adventure stories. Do include your writing credits."

Hey!! Please avoid scammers some people above. I would suggest getting a paper route. They hire people of all ages, as long as you have the commitment and motivation to do the work. Usually they just send you the papers and flyers and you put them together and deliver it to a street. The more houses you do the more you get paid. Also depending on your carrier, there will be different times. Some local newspapers deliver once every day or some just do it twice a week depending on your neighborhood. Overall, it can pay around 50-200 and its a good starting job for a person like you! I have done it when I was a child and overall it's a good experience, as well its good exercise. ;)
