Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - make me cry buckets and it's the best thing Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet have done. Playing against type.
Closer - brilliant film based on the Patrick Marber play. Natalie Portman is brilliant and, again, another film I wept buckets over.
Lost in Translation - really conveyed that feeling of isolation and loneliness that we often feel at times and the need to cling to even the remotest piece of familiarity and comfort.
Spirited Away - beautiful and magical Japanese animation from Hayao Miyazaki.
Kung Fu Hustle - such a fun film, that always makes me smile. Brilliant effects and great action.

Lovely question...
