Sometimes. Sometimes it's hurricane weather. A lot of times it can go from beach weather to hurricane weather without warning. I got caught in the middle of a hurricane deep sea fishing there though the weather reports were good. That was interesting.
Ah, the other thing to know about the beaches is there are no waves. It's like a giant, tepid bathtub. A thing to know about Miami in general is the humidity; no matter what the time of year, the humidity will ensure that the second you leave the plane until you get home and run your clothes through a dryer, your clothes will never be completely dry.
Seriously, I was advising somebody who grew up on the Gulf of Mexico and had a business trip there about the humidity. We literally got into a 'my humidity is more humid than your humidity' argument. Once the person got there they immediately called me and said, "I'm sorry, you win, it's horrible."

I've gone to Ft. Lauderdale (40 miles north of Miami) every Christmas for the past 20 years. The weather can be iffy for the beach, but I usually find a sunny day - or 2 or 3 - in the high 70's or low 80's that is just perfect!

In Miami or Miami Beach you can never tell what it will be like for x-mas we have the most odd weather, in all america it can rain in one block and not the other but Beach walking yes in x-mas not Sunbathing at least not this time in nov. we're getting a cold spell. But who knows next month what it will be like.

Hurricane season ends Nov 1st ! Yes bring your wet suit if you have one Of course if its' raining you might not want to go in for a dip, like the other person said watch out for inattentive life-guards driving their vehicles on the beach.

come to Miami and find out for yourself, most of the people will tell you different story but remember, Miami is the sunshine state, where you will always find fun in the sun whether is Christmas or not.

Most likely it will be good beach weather however this does not mean it will be good swimming weather.
