Unless you're planning on downloading that second kid, I think you might want to consider posting your question somewhere other than the "internet" section.

It's different in every situation. My son was 3 when my daughter was born and he slept just fine. Sometimes there are cases where an older child will relapse and try to be a baby again. But, it is harder with two. Feeding was one of the simple parts. My 3 yr old could feed himself. While he was at the table eating I would sit with him and feed the baby. My son never really did wake to his sister crying. But my nieces did. Just take it one step at a time and you will get into a routine and it gets easier.

there is of course no right answer to your question. However, do not worry. Four years between kids is a good choice. Will the first kid wake up at night? That depends on where the second one sleeps. I had my second one sleep in our bedroom, next to the bed. If the kids sleep together the first one will get used to the crying. If not take it in your bedroom. But do not worry. It will just be wonderful to have a second one.Enjoy!

It's wonderful having children less than two years a part in age so they are willing to have similar interests and play together. My youngest plays as rough and tough as the oldest. And the oldest are willing to play with the youngest. Works well, much of the time.

Mommy and Daddy get very little sleep regardless.

Consider adoption as well. You can bypass the infant stage and all the hardship of getting that little one up to speed with the rest of the family.

Good luck!

The older child adjusts much quicker than you will. Don't worry about the other children in the household. Worry about you. Remember how it was when your first child was born--- one forgets quickly. I did and when my second came along I suddenly remembered what it's like to go to work with very little sleep.
