Well, the picture doesn't give a good sense of scale, but it looks like a wolf spider. There are many varieties of Wolf spider, and they can be found all over North America. Their bites can be painful (like a bee sting), but are otherwise harmless.

It is definatly a wolf spider, family Lycosidae, probably in the genus Hogna, Im not too familiar with this family, but you can always double check with an image from this site:

ew ew ew!!! big icky one!

Zoropsis spinimana maybe? its a new one from the medituranian they dont know how it got there but its harmless.

if it was my house, it wouldnt matter cause it would be LONG dead before the camera came out.

If that is in your house you better call a specialist b/c that spider looks like has poison. I hope it is not in yout house, if it is good luck.

even asked my husband but he didn't know either. Take the picture to the Zoo they should be able to tell you. Or call Orkin they should know.....
