I used to believe in God and an afterlife. then I believed there was no God or afterlife. Now I am mature enough to say I just don't know (and never really will). What I will say is that the very state of existing at all in this life (something we can all agree exists on some level) suggests that something ELSE is not impossible. I mean, if you really think about it, the fact that we exist at all is amazing and impossible seeming! Yet we know we do exist (like I said, in one way or another) right now, so why is it so absurd to think there is something else? I feel I am not being very clear. I apologize. My point is that existence itself is so imporobable that the idea of there being something else isn't too much more of a philosophical stretch. I am done babbling now.

i think there is no harm in believing whatever you WANT to about it. many people find comfort in thinking there is an "afterlife". many people enjoy the idea that there are other, more advanced civilizations in the universe that may one day change ours forever, good or bad. some people are certain there IS nothing else besides us, here, right now. i think you have to gather as much info as you can, decide what makes sense to you, and go with it. i WILL say that it is difficult to find comfort in the idea that you'll never KNOW the definite answer to this question. i do my best to be content with the idea that i will always be searching, not just sitting and letting what is going to happen, happen.

Of course not. However, to find, first you must look. Don't waste time asking; start looking. Remember that the process of looking is more rewarding than the act of finding! When you have spent a lifetime searching, then you'll know plenty ... but more importantly, you'll know just how much there is yet to be discovered.

I believe that there is untold more. I happen to be a radically committed Christian, and I believe that when I die I will spend eternity in the presence of God. Eternity.

Not just 2 minutes of bliss - eternity. How? Spirituality is a faith thing, not a logical one. I did not make up the plan, God did. and I believe Him. Choice on my part, but the evidence of God's existence is seriously borne out in my life. There IS a God and He's got it right.

Well, you asked, didn't you?

I believe there is heaven. There isn't a way to prove yes or no right now.

The question is if you want there to be more. If there isn't more oh well you were happy believing you were going to be rewarded and if there is more you are rewarded for being good. If you believe there is more there is a better chance you will be Happy yin the end.

No, stay tuned to part 2. Although not a surprise ending, it is fascinating.

No. There is a place called Heaven On Earth. You have to find it. You have to seek for it and look for it. But when you find it, you may as well have died and gone to heaven for real.
