Well, gee, if it comes to that why don't all the teachers around the country... and all the electricians, and roadworkers and doctors and nurses, and cabdrivers, and restaurant owners, and carpenters quit their jobs and go to join the forces? Perhaps because all of these people are doing just as vitally important a job remaining behind working in the field of their personal trained skills to keep the homefront going.
George Bush is in the unique position of being the Commander in Chief and top gun running the country. He has also looooong ago passed the age where he could get back into combat training. Besides, George actually spends relatively little time with his "family" He is far too busy tending to the job the country voted him into that office to do. Whether you approve of his job performance or not, he is the one who got the People's vote in the long established democratic way, and if we, the People, cannot accept that, then I would suggest to you that we are no better than some of those other countries around the world where if you don't like your leaders, you assassinate them. Either that, or, of course, the other "system of government" we often hear about is one where "The :People" get no say in matters at all, and if you were to shoot off your mouth in protest over the governing body (as you can freely do here), you would quickly get hauled away somewhere and never be heard from again"
At this time of Thanksgiving, I would suggest that you think hard about all the freedoms that you have in this country, and stop, too, to think about why it is soooo many people seem to want to sneak in here, and make America their home too .

Not a good idea to have the President in combat. Presidents throughout history visit troops and Bush has already done that. Traditionally they spend Thanksgiving with their families as they should.

The same question could be asked about Osama Bin Laden, or with the Muslim Clerics in Iran advocating the destruction of Americans. It comes down to military commanders must command, not fight like foot soldiers.

It is ironic how many people are criticizing the President for not serving in combat - when they never spent a day in uniform themselves.
If you are so upset about the President not serving in combat - why don't you set the example and volunteer to fight in Iraq?
BTW - I notice that you had no problems with Clinton's draft dodging. Are you a bunch of hypocrites?

Wow General you wish the united states to give control to the terrorist?
Lets look this over tactically The presedent of the united states the must powerful person on the planet picks up a gun and goes to war.
now if the enemy had any basic fighting skills our presedent would be captured and any cost.
Now we can give them ransom or let him die and have chaeny as presedent.
So what part of this plan seems like a winning one sounds to me like somebody want America to lose.
hope this helps

That's just it he isn't brave. He's a coward
He does'nt care about all the people that are fighting. Why does'nt he care? Because they are not his family.
He speaks as if he knows of loss but i don't think he does.
I tihnk we should just pull out of Iraq. This is just another Vietnam War. We are never going to win.
In a war no one is a winner because both sides suffer losses. And both sides have families which have to deal with the losses. So in truth we are all the losers.
Bush just does'nt understand nor comprehend it.

Heck no. If he gets killed out there guess who is in charge next. Send Cheney instead, he's the craziest one now that Rummy is on his way out. Or better yet, go ahead and send Bush, with Cheney behind him. Then we get Nancy Pelosi as president, I wouldn't mind that. While Bush is over there, I'll be more than glad to "console" those two daughters of his, very fine and drunk all the time (is there a better combination).

No leader of a country is expected to fight in any war. I don't like Bush but certainly don't expect him fight in this war or any other.
Maybe you should have asked: "if Bush believes so strong in this war and feels we should all be compelled to offer our sons and daughters up as a sacrifice to protect the US and the world from terrorism, then why hasn't he offered up his daughters?".
Or if he's really concerned about the war on terror: Why is he protecting terrorists who live in our country? Why is he allowing our borders to remain open to all who want to enter?
