why are you unsure of your teacher's reaction? if you were told to write a persuasive paper, the whole point of it is for you to state your opinion. no matter how controversial your opinion is, if he didn't want to read it he shouldn't have told you to write a persuasive piece. as long as you back up your opinion with facts and figures, he has to respect it. period.
when I was in high school (this was right after Oklahoma City) I wrote a persuasive paper defending Timothy McVeigh. I was doing it because the teacher told us to choose a different outlook. It was kind of hard, but I did it. And she respected my right to do it.
If you feel strongly about affirmative action, then by God write about affirmative action. Just make sure you have information to back up what you say.

In a learn paper you have a topic be counted which you're getting to know. you could desire to have somewhat some credible sources, and additionally you utilize those to instruct a factor or make a assertion inclusive of your paper. In a private opinion paper, you're in certainty purely persuading somebody to have self assurance the comparable element you do some particular subject be counted. you could convey in sources as "evidence" to assist your concepts... inspite of the undeniable fact that it rather isn't any longer just about as formal as a learn paper.
