I'm not sure how this relates to hobbies and crafts, either, but I don't hate Michigan. I used to live there when I was really little and I have nothing against the state.

The weather, job market, political climate, and roads are all terrible. Most of the land is flat and boring. There is little to do apart from traveling to the northern part of the state for outdoor activities. The cost of living is high even though the economy sucks. The areas surrounding the major cities in the southern part of the state are run-down and polluted...these are the only areas where you can get a descent job.
I'm trying to think of something positive...

I don't know anyone who hates Michigan. My Dad just moved there and I am going to visit him for Thanksgiving.

I don't know anyone that hates Mi. I grew up there and think it's a great place. I get the strangest looks from my new coworkers when I point to the spot on my hand and say "I'm from here!" lol I had to get support from the other Michiganders in the store to make her beleive I wasn't crazy!
