Or have any to add? Take note, these are just generalizations about the majority of each party. I know some out there are exceptions to the stereotypes.
Democrats:
1) they scream tolerance of race and sexuality but they have no tolerance for any one who apposes their view
2) their protection of environment, animals, freedom of speech, and separation of church and state comes before protecting a developing human.
3) they tend to act moderate when running but when they are elected vote completely left of most issues.
4) just aren't happy till they can find a scandal
5) believe that my hard earned money should go to someone bc they are 'less fortunate' or a minority even though they had all the same chances i did

Republicans:
1) tend to dislike science and technology
2) more freakishly religious and therefore cant hold an argument without saying ‘you’ll go to hell for that’ or ‘god save us’.
3) don’t realize that sexuality and family values are two different things
4) “proud to be an American” = war with everyone who dislikes us
5) they think it’s the gov’ts job to censer music and TV, not the parents/guardians.

response to 'elisioloyd' for the "you refered to sperm/egg as a developing human. Like calling a hood and a tire a developing car." comment:
i don’t care if your for or against abortion but if you passed any health or biology classes you know that when the sperm and egg get together, there are now 46 chromosomes... the same exact 46 chromosomes that make us human and nothing else.

I actually agree on both ends... though I believe that all of those things apply to both sides at one point or another in their own way. Extreme Partisanship is tearing this nation apart from it's roots on up. We keep this up, and we'll instigate a third World War and another American civil war in the same sweeping move and be entirely destroyed before it's done.

In rebuttal of your democrat perception:
1. I don't oppose views. Actually, my very best friend is a Republican male from Midland, Texas. He and I do talk politics and sometimes laugh at the responses we get when ppl find out we are such great friends.
2. You are confusing activists with democrats. There are plenty of Republican activists... just try watching a pro-life protest outside of an abortion clinic.
3. Flat untrue. Do you even know the voting stats on anyone you could argue this point. For example, many claim Hillary is liberal. The woman is pro-war, anti-gay marriage, etc... she stands by everything she campaigned on as a centrist.
4. You have that backwards but out of fairness, I'd say both parties are scandal happy to some extent.
5. Ridiculous argument when Clinton was the one that campaigned and signed Welfare Reform in the mid-90s limiting welfare to 2-5 years max in a lifetime. Also ridiculous considering more white Republicans are on welfare due to the midwest states. Until I read #5 I took you serious, now I see you are just another propagandized Republican.

Where on earth did you get the idea that Republicans don't like Science and Technology? Can you show me a few engineers who are Dem's? Knock yourself out. Don't you know the old stereotype: Lawyers are Dem's and Doctors are Republicans.
You don't consider medicine a science?
Could you show me an attorney or a movie star, singer, or celebrity who majored in engineering or science? (especially if you don't consider computer engineering, since that crosses both party lines)
Aaaaarrrgh! What a stupid statement you made for the sciences!

I am a Democrat and while I don't agree with each one of their views I agree more with the majority of their views than that of the Republicans... my suggestion to you would be to become an independent

Bravo! Well said, my dear.
But I think you are wrong about saying that Liberals are taking your money & giving it to people who had all the same chances you did. Most of them didn't. You shouldn't be so closed-minded when it comes to people that are poor. Not everyone has every opportunity to succeed in life, & if that means they deserve to be poor, then you should be ashamed.
Other than that, I think that you are right in saying that the party system is wrong.
It only pigeon holds people into a false sense of loyalty that degrades & humiliates our pride as a free nation.

I tend to agree with you on the Democrats. They never follow through. However, I really don't understand what you mean about the Republicans.

I think they both have been fiscally irresponsible with Americas tax dollars.
I am a conservative.........not Democrat or Republican or Independent. I do lean more to the Republican party.

To sum up, you hate it when people say things to get votes, when they have no plans on following through. Try the third parties...they haven't been defined by their lies and intolerance...yet. I am libertarian because of the way I live my life. I vote for what works best for me, not what works best for others. That being said, libertarian IS what's best for us ALL! ;)
