I have take 2 home pregnancy tests yesterday, both positive. Then went to the dr and the test came up negative. Was confused and bought another home pregnancy test (different brand) and both of those came up positive. What would make the dr one come up negative. I did do the blood test but will not have the results until Monday the earliest because of the holidays. What do you think pregnant? or not?

Pregnant. Don't get excited until your blood test results but more then likely positive, its very rare to get a false positive let alone 4. But a false negative is very common. It may have been the time of day or you had just been to the toilet then had to go again to do the test at the doctors so the hormone was very low in that sample. Good luck and best wishes.

The same thing happened to me. My husband and I had been trying forever, so I was hysterical and bawling while the technician took my blood. She was so nice, and explained to me that if you have any HcG levels in your urine, you are most likely pregnant. Urine tests all have different levels of HCG that they check for, usually over 20 parts per million, I believe. However, some tests may not pick them up if you are early into your pregnancy and your HCG is lower. The blood test will be able to measure ANY amounts of HCG in the blood and tell you about how pregnant you are (I was only 2 1/2 weeks pregnant because of a late ovulation, which is why it didn't show up on the doctor's test.) It seems that the tests that are over the counter generally measure lower HCG levels than most doctor's office tests, strangely enough. Anyways, to wrap it up, you are probably pregnant, and congratulations!

I don't understand? How could your doctor test be negative & they did a blood test, but you won't get it back for a couple of days? I thought the OB's only did blood test for an accurate outcome? On my OB visit, they gave me my positive results during my visit & I also took 4 - 2 different brands of HPT before making my visit.

I think that blood tests are the most accurate so it is hard to say if you are pregnant or not I would just wait for the results on Monday.

You can't get false positives with these tests. You're pregnant. Obviously something happened at the doctors - maybe it was just a defective test.

I bet your pregnant! The test may not have detected enough hormone to come up positive. Good Luck!

i would go with the positive result. the doctors test could have just been wrong. i would assume pregnancy but not tell anybody until you get the results of your bloodwork in. i personally wouln't tell anybody until your first trimester is over anyway. the risk of miscarriage in the first trimester is one in three. and i'd prefer for everyone to not know. good luck! i hope it's positive... if you want it to be!!!
