cultural beauty standards.
That is my actual answer, and no, there is no sarcasm. I'm majoring in sociology and in my classes I have attended lessons that talk about "beauty" and "attractiveness" These are social constructions, meaning there is no absolute definition of what makes a person attractive or unnatractive. What it means to be beautiful changes over time and from culture to culture.
The economy plays a very large part in defining the beauty/attractiveness standard. What clothes are "fashionable" what hairstyles? what makeup? what brand of shoes or hat (nike ring a bell?) today, the media shows us images of "attractive people" they show these images in association with things like success, happiness, and intelligence, over and over again and we internalize these messages, these dynamics, and we buy into them.
Another example is religion, which is also a cultural institution. An example of this is, "Women should have long hair, cover their breasts, wear a certain style of clothing, and she will be "proper" and "desirable" to a husband and to god."
At one point in time, beauty for women in one culture was defined by the queen. (white lead face paint anyone? the queen happened to be very pale and it was considered beautiful to emmulate her.)
Also, in the renaissance age, full figured women were considered attractive, because they were thought to have more money and thus could afford to eat better; thin women were often pauper's because access to good nutrition was scarce, so thin women were not considered as attractive to many people.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as skills, abilities, intelligence, assertiveness/timidness, independence/dependence etc, this is also defined by culture and are subject to change over time from culture to culture. Even in the US, where I live, at one point quiet, submissive women who weren't able to read (and had no desire to read) were considered attractive...
So, if you are looking for an answer like "dark/light skin, thin/round, eyecolor, breast size, height, etc, the answers you receive will change over time or from culture to culture.
So, again my answer is, cultural beauty standards make women more attractive.

having a girl that knows about the world that isn't sheltered. if a girl has been living at home then you need to leave her alone. if you find someone down to earth that knows a little bit about common sense and street smarts cool. if you get involved with someone that doesn't u might as well stop it now cause it ain't gonna last long!
