This is a difficult situation for you, and i know that your looking out for your mate. Which is a good thing. If you can't find a teacher you completely trust, get in touch with Child-line: 0800 1111. My mate use to keep over-exercising and I knew exactly what she was doing and i suggested to ring Child line to help her with her emotions, and they were really kind and helped her all the way. And, you can also look at the Eating Disorders Association. Look it up on your latest Yellow Pages book. He is not alone. And, let him know your supporting him all through the way. Good luck!

yes i think you should tell someone you completely trust before it gets worst. Talk to the trusted somebody in private, and tell them about your friend and her problem, and that you really want to help her. Once you tell the teacher, you should arrange a meeting with you, the teacher, the guidance counselor, your friend, and her parents. Get her into a rehab program and to see a therapist/psychologist to help her get through this. She may hate you for telling someone, but she'll forgive you because by doing this, you're basically saving her life. Good luck!

the fact that you care so much for your friend is commendable, and I say HOORAY for you, now to your problem, keep in mind that the teacher you are confiding in is much older than you and they will know what to do, if it is a eating disorder that you are describing, their is help available and your teacher will know who to contact, tell your teacher exactly as you stated in your question, don't leave out any details, express your concerns calmly, and above all, talk to your teacher privately without anyone else around and do this as soon as possilble, after all I suspect your friend is in need of medical help and certainly will not hold out under present conditions, and she probably doesn't realize she has a problem! GOOD LUCK!!

keep it to the point, you think your friend has an eating disorder and that she might need professional help, after that just be supportive of her and hopefully she will be able to heal from this. Do not be suprised if she doesnt talk to you for a while. Accepting that you need help is the first, and most difficult step to take, be patient and be there for her no matter what...

Speak to your friend first about your concerns rather than go behing her back as she wont apprechiate it especially if she wont accept the fact she has a problem grab some leaflets from a medical centre for her if she has an eating disorder it involves medical services if you have no success with her speak to her mom

Tell your parents or a guidance counselor. An adult needs to know what is going on so the proper help can be found. Leave it to the adults.

It doesn't have to be a teacher you talk to. Just talk to a trusted adult that you really trust and can talk to. They will help you with how and what to say to your friend.

i have the exact problem with a close friend of mine and someone told her parents...she is getting better but is still down to only one meal a day. you MUST tell someone, at first maybe you dont want to mention your friends name to your teacher but eventually someone needs to know. your friend might not realise it right away but you will be saving their life and they WILL thank you later. GOOD LUCK
