Every now and then when a buy a new shirt and wash it, it comes out with a colored stain on the shirt. Sometimes it's pink, orange, or even red, and I dont even own a pink or orange shirt! I don't know where these colors even come from, and it usually happens on shirts I havent washed before. I always wash in cold water, and use "Clorox 2 for colors" non chlorine bleach and "Woolite for darks". Can anybody please help me?

sounds like colors on your shirt you are washing may be bleeding into other areas. Try soaking the shirt in water with about 1/4 cup white vinegar for about 30 min before washing. That is what I was told to do to my son's karate uniform so the blue collar wouldn't bleed into the white and it worked!

have you removed ALL the tags and or things you have put in the pockets? Are you the only one using the washer? Did you wash the shirts with something that has buttons etc. that are not wash safe? Some buttons and clasps are NOT color safe, even in cold water.

you are washing colored clothes and white clothes together all bright shirts go together then yellow, pink and white shirts go together. you can use plain Clorox on your whites and a Clorox 2 on your brights!
