I want to hear about really, bad, bad songs. The Police have a song called "Mother" on their Synchonicity album. If you can listen to that song for more than 30 seconds, I applaud you. Andy Summer what were you thinking?? Any other awful ones?

Humor columnist Dave Barry did a survey of Americans as to what the worst popular song ever was. The winner was "MacArthur Park". (someone left the cake out in the rain...). Second place was "Timothy." I believe third place was "Yummy, yummy, yummy, I got love in my tummy."

Of course this was based on mainly popular songs released as singles...if you want to count stinkeroo b-sides and other things, we have a LONG discussion ahead of us!

You're right though..."Mother" was being used at Gitmo, wasn't it?

p.s. I totally agree with the girl below me - Loving You...AAAK! Broken glass everywhere!

Let's see...anything by The Clash, shortly following up ...anything by the Ramones.

And I agree with
Baby Got Back
Back That Azz Up
Maneater by Hall & Oates

Anything by John Cougar Mellencamp

Most recent? The Next Contender by Nickelback. That song is so effing stupid it ruins the whole CD.

I can't write you a book, but I'm going with Mandy by Barry Manilow being the song that makes my ears bleed.

I heard a song called Carousel back in the early 80s on the radio once and it was obviously traumatic enough for me to remember it. It was a slow uneven song with poor lyrics. It was the first and last time I heard that song.

Ne way bad music, Edwin mccain I'll Be, Goo Goo Doll IRIS pretty much anything by Creed, Limp Bizcuit had some pretty bad songs. Jewel yuk anything that comes out of her mouth sucks,

I don't want to seem racist so I got some black people, Mambo # 5 was horrible, Who ever sings that We SHow stopping song, I hate it. Usher let it Burn, the song would have been better had he been describing an STD. Pretty much most of the 80's Rock

Oh, man. There are so many awful songs, I don't know where to start. I really hate that one song, something about a big black horse and a cherry tree, woo hoo. Argh, I want to cut off my ears every time I'm forced to listen to that! And the "you're beautiful" song. I hate that one, too. OMG, that guy's voice is so bad.

" we built this city" by jefferson starship is the worst song ever. and even though there are some really bad ones out there, this one makes me cringe - root canal cringe - when i hear it. even though it made number 1 - it is bad, real bad.
- it's so bad, than when i received an 80's compilation disc, this song was included, i burned the disc and edited this one out. it's that bad.

Any song in the 'noise' genre is pretty horrendous.

Anything done by the scissor sisters is also pretty suicidal.

There was a song (I can't remember the title, or exact lyrics), but the female lead singer rants about how great it is to be a "....Barbie girl, in a Barbie world...."

"What a wonderful world"

I realize the positive message the song gives out but I hate the melody and the voice that sings the song.
