I need clear techniques for how to do a drum roll

Hold the stick lightly. Now make the stick bounce off the head. Now use both hands for the "bouncing" really fast off the drum head.

If you don't understand, get a sharpened pencil. Pinch it near the top lightly then lets it fall to the surface of a wooden table (or other). Get a second pencil and try to do a drum roll. Now go back to the previous step and use real sticks.
