My overseas freinds are just eating me alive right now. They are comparing India with Bangladesh and making a mockery out of me and I have simply nothing to defend. They are saying that our Captain is a backstabber, giving away freinds for the captains job, specially one who had secured his place in the ODI by accomodatring him as a batsman-keeper, otherwise he would never have played ODI in the first place. what can one say about Chappel, he is just beyond criticism and Ravi Shastri trying hard to defend those two. I am ashamed of todays performance. what can i say in my defence, I simply dont know, please help me out. Our so called "Wall" is just disgusting.

Shastri and Chappel always have been suspect creatures. But I don't think there is nexus between the three here. There was a nexus between Wright and Dravid - thanks to the Kent connection. Wright even got Dravid to play for Scotland. But there was nothing wrong with that.
The wrong connections were between Chappel and Kiran More - due to business interests. And of course there have been kickbacks to Shastri to get Chappel in as the coach. Tom Moody would have been a lot better choice.
But if you are disappointed with India's performance today, blame it on the selection panel. Jaffer, Raina and Kaif simply cannot bat on bouncy wickets. They ought to be back on the first flight to Mumbai.
You'll see that in the next few matches, Dravid, tendulkar, Dhoni Swhwag and Mongia being able to bat a lot more comfortably - but the rest would continue to falter. Yuvraj could have made a difference here.
But the key point is, who else should be in the playing XI? Gautam Gambhir? Ganguly? I would even recommend someone like Akash Chopra to be brought back for the test series.

lets hope never, chappel is a really good coach and dravid is probably the greatest captain in indian history... that is why india is one of the best teams in international cricket.
