My son is in Kindergarden and Im not sure what is right. Do we get the teacher a christmas present or not and what are some ideas? I remember reading a story awhile back that teachers get so many gifts with the word teacher on them that they get really useless and boring. So I guess my question is do we get her a gift and if so what?

I think a nice candle with a handmade card from your child saying "Thankyou for being my teacher" and a quote about teachers like
"A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others." would be a nice gesture.

Gift cards are good too, I guess, if a bit impersonal. Fine if your budget can afford a decent amount. Some people can't.

A gift card is one idea.

Something more personal would probably be appreciated, because of all the TEACHER stuff they get.

Winter is cold. Nothing wrong with a nice blanket, slippers, gloves, etc.

I used to volunteer to work with a 4th grade class in gradeschool. That Christmas, the teacher gave me a nice gift. She knew I was very education-minded and that I had lots of books for my children. So, she gave my children each a nice blanket for Christmas, instead of books.... and one for me.

Blankets wear out and a nice throw blanket that is pretty is not expensive.

Or even a nice quality set of towels.... you know... a bath, hand, an washcloth with a pretty design.

Hope that helps,

Merry Christmas!

Sue

A gift card worth about 20 bucks to a store like Target or Starbucks. Put it in a non-religious Christmas card and write something like,
"Our family would like to thank you for the work that you do with our child. Happy Holidays"
Easy, simple and practical.

I would get her a gift card to Bed Bath & Beyond...either that or if you have the extra spending cash get her a gift card to a spa.

She might need it with twenty 4 year olds running around her every day during the week.

A gift card to Target or a store like that would be great. She'd be able to choose from a wide variety of items. My daughter teaches and I asked her and that was her answer.
