I am looking for different songs to sing on the kareoke! Normally I rattle out a good version of Hero (mariah carey) and a couple others but am bored with them now and want new songs to try!
Your suggestions would be great.

If you can sing Mariah, you might try some Evanescence or Amy Grant, even the Carpenters. There are lots of choices, it's just a matter of preference. BTW, are you singing this at Karaoke bars or at home and just want the practice? Either way, go to this site:

They have a great selection of music for you to chose from, as well as package deals that make things really cheap. The best CDG's you can buy are usually Soundchoice and Sweet Georgia Brown discs. Karaoke fan here too -- mostly Benatar, Joan Jett, Melissa Etheridge -- Like the throaty rock songs

Not sure if it is out on Karaoke yet, but the new Christina Aguelera song "Hurt" would probably suit you;
