I am currently working on a 1955 chris craft 45 foot corsair. I have already selected the primer and bottom paint but am not sure what to use for a sealer or even if a sealer is even needed. any suggestions?

Sealer is not needed. Remove any flaking paint by scraping, and sanding, then rough up the existing paint for good adhesion of the new coating. Use at least two coats.

It is as Capt. John says! I would only add that, since you say you have already painted above the waterline, when this eventually needs redoing, sand it off and epoxy the whole thing, (inside & out if possible) then repaint it all, over the epoxy. (BTW I hope you don't intend to use the gun - assuming you have one for mounting - on the poor ducks! These will certainly kill some, but they will horrifically injure a lot more besides!) -|--)

It will depend on the brand of bottom paint you are using. Check out a company called INTERLUX, they are the nations largest maker of bottom paints and sealants for boats. www.interlux.com

I'm partial to red, for a kind of goofy reason. I used to babysit, and this book series I was reading to these kids took place in the sea, and the bottom of the boats were traditionally painted red to ensure the safety of the travelers. So, yeah...

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/bBRyZ
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.
