You should wash them with medium heated water and press something soft against your lips. I think petrolium jelly, a.k.a., Vaseline, works great to soften your lips in the nighttime and they create a clear, glossy confection in the daytime. Sometimes, since I get chapped lips pretty often as well, I gently rub on some Vaseline and then put on a coat of gloss on top, so your lips are continuing to relax in the soft coat of beauty!

Exfolate by gently rubbing the dry skin off, and then apply a moisturizing balm (especially in harsh weather or when you sleep).

There was a person on either Rachel Ray or Oprah a few weeks ago (I don't remember which!) and they said for instantly soft lips to take some vasaline and some sugar to exfoliate and to scrub your lips with a toothbrush.

Sounds weird and I didn't try it yet but it would be cheap and makes sense!

Many things you can do.

First of all, DON'T LICK THEM! Plus, getting as little liquid as possible helps as well...

Second, you could use a moisturizing chapstick like Burts Bees or something else.

Third, use a lipgloss or lipstick with moisturizer or aloe to make them feel better.

Good luck!
