I am an old fogey as you say, let me tell you Cliff Richards has been writing, singing songs since he was a teenager and will still be singing and writing till he dies, as quite a number of 50's 60's singers and groups are still performing to this day name a singer of today that will last that long and you win a bag of crisps of your choice.

I love him as human being and there is no reason for me to hate him. He made a terrible mistake in allowing his emotions to goverrn his actions. The only thing I can say is "You make in life the exact reproduction of your own thoughts", and you thoughts generally come out of your mouth. People are always making "not so nice" remarks about other races, but his remarks kind of took him over the line. The type of remarks he made were definitely racist remarks. It's too bad he outed himself in public.

Cliff Richard has never written a song in his life - as far as I know, they're all written by professional songwriters, aren't they? So anyone who's written "he writes his own songs" is talking out of their ar*e.
My own personal feelings : ambivalence. He's entertaining some folk in his own way, I guess.

It's my dirty little secret (no more) - I love those old 60's films that he was in - Young Ones and Summer Holiday.

I think its always been fashionable to hate him for some reason but, when his songs are on I often find myself humming away...so I guess I like him.
