You've nailed it Jen. The truth!! All of these people who claim to disagree with you are just not being honest with themselves. Of course they wish their teams were as successful as the Yankees. What fan wouldn't? The bottom line is that money or not the players still have to get the job done on the field. Georgie is always talking about the Yankees not winning a world series in this century. The fact is the Tigers haven't won still 1984. So what is your point Georgie? The Tigers are nothing more than a one hit wonder. Big deal, you won a pennant. You are all missing the point. It's all about the legend of the Yankees and how it overshadows all of baseball. No matter what the other teams do, it's still all about the Yankees and how your teams compare. Some of you just have to make your hateful comments to relieve your frustration. I think that's pitiful. Instead of being mad at the Yankees what don't you turn to your own teams ownership and ask them why they don't put a winner on the field. And don't give me this money crap. All franchises have the money to buy anyone they want. It's a matter of stepping up to the plate and doing it. Obviously they don't have the guts.

Over the direction of his profession, Derek Jeter will leave the pastime as between the optimum shortstops and arguably the final shortstop of this era. i've got self assurance that at this point in his profession he's somewhat overvalued, yet thats because of the fact many human beings don't recognize what they're talking approximately. His numbers for his place as stated via varied different posters are up there with the greats for his place and he has been a persevering with participant for extra effective than the previous decade. Defensively he's a criminal duty, yet that has consistently been understood and should no longer count style against him. ultimately you could no longer argue his fulfillment as participant with the group he has been on. this is real that he performs for the Yankees and if he performed someplace else history may be very diverse, yet this isn't any fault of his very own and should no longer count style against him. Jeter has 4 worldwide sequence jewelry to his call throughout the time of an era the place that form of fulfillment is seen impossible pondering loose organization, etc. he's the captain and heart of that group and could have his monument enshrined in centerfield with all the different greats and the #2 will consistently be remembered. we could no longer forget that gamers which comprise Phil Rizzuto and Pee Wee Reese did no longer post numbers that have been everywhere on the factor of as good as Jeter and are the two corridor of Famers because of the fact of their fulfillment and management traits. Jeter would be a 1st pollHOFer and is a classification act who has performed day in and day holiday to the final of his know-how.

Looks like you hit a nerve. All I can say is 26 world championships and 39 American League pennants. Jeter was the victim of uneducated voters who maybe watch a half dozen games a year and just read local coverages from each city's press releases. If you think I'm kidding, I'm not. You'd be amazed how out of touch these sports writers are outside of their own media areas. And lets not forget that these sports writers are human so if they don't like someone, that person is screwed big time. It's all politics anyway. We Yankees fans know that Jeter should have won so forget about it!! Next season we'll just have to piss off the rest of baseball and win another world series!! Ha!!

Actually I am a National League fan with little feelings about the Yankees in specific and the American League in general. I will say I think over the long haul Derek Jet er has been jobbed in never winning the MVP. He is a fantastic player who would have seemed worthy a couple of times. Maybe the sportswriters just don't like him or the Yankees. Maybe someday we will have a salary cap in baseball as we do in other sports and then we will see who the best talent evaluators are and which teams dominate a sport. Certainly will level the playing surface.

I don't hate the Yankees but I dislike arrogant Yankee fans who can't stand somebody else getting some recognition. I certainly hope that Jeter has more class than a lot of his fans.

How cool is this? Not once did you ask why Jeter didn't win the MVP, but the anti-Yankees fans are answering it like you did. They're not even reading you questions. It's about the success of the franchise more than it's about the individual. I think I understand where you are coming from. You've really got some of these jerks in a fury! Ya gotta love it!!
You are correct. It's all about envy and blind hatred as someone already mentioned. I'd love to see my Phillies have that kind of success. And I agree that all these franchises can afford any players they want. It's just that Stienbrenner is willing to open his pockets when most don't have the balls to do it.

Well first, lets see I do not wish my team had this boring success that only money can buy. And yes if given the chance I would not take Jeter, there are better players out there that could help a team . Of course we rejoice because someone undeserving didn't win. And why is it that all you yankee fans are whining so much about jeter losing. get over it already.

There is no denying it, the Yankees are the target of the rest of baseball because of their success. I'm reading some of these comments and some are just mindless hatred. You're right, if there teams had Jeter and the success of the Yankees they would be singing a different tune. And as for Georgie, your team hasn't won a world series in a generation! What's up wit dat?? I love guys like Mick "7", always under control in the middle of a storm! Go on Yankees haters, have a field day but Jen is right, you only wish your teams were as successful.

I'm okay with the way things went this year...Yes I"m rejoicing in the fact that the guy who actually deserved the award won in the AL...Justin Morneau was the AL MVP, Jermaine Dye was the AL's best player, Derek Jeter should have finished 4th behind Joe Mauer...

Good question that I'm not sure I can answer except to say it's envy plain and simple. The Yankees were great even before free agency so you haters don't know what you're talking about. They such had great scouting for decades. I'm a transplanted South Philly dude so I'm a huge Phillies fan. I just wish my Phillies had some of the Yankees success and maybe they will this coming season. Who knows? If we had a chance to get Jeter for Rollins what do you think we would do? Are you kidding me? I can't argue with anything you say but it's fun reading all this garbage from all these so called baseball fans. I don't have a problem with the truth!!
