What better justification is there than to allude to a higher power having made you to do something instead of just taking responsibility for your own words and actions. That burns me up. Hiding behind a God or a Deity figure to conveniently absolve yourself so that you can "pretend" to yourself and the rest of the world that you're not culpable.

I think it helps them alleviate the guilt. I knew of someone that justified cheating on his wife because "God didn't want him to be unhappy". Seriously, what the hell?? This is the crutch that organized religion has created. People are just too unwillingly to actually accept the blame for a bad decision.

how do you define morally wrong? is it your morals, your churchs morals, some guy in alabama's second wife's church's morals? everyone can use god in defense because no body can truely understand god, so we all have a different view of him that fits our needs.

Even though for all intent purposes, they are putting words in God's mouth.
