It is all about the foods that can give you energy, make you sleepy, cure some diseases, etc. I doubt if you're looking for those answers, but it lists almost every plant, food, and nut, and what the effects on you are.
You may not want to go out and buy a book like that (even though you probably should) so here are the foods that it says give you energy, I've found that they really do, too:

Cabbage
Cantaloupe
Chicken
Eggs
Filbert
Grapefruit
Olives
Oregano
Peanuts
Red Sweet Peppers
Rice Bran
Salt
Cherry Tomatoes
Watercress
I would really suggest buying the book, it not only shows you what food will provide energy, sleepiness, whatever you may want, but also helps with your diet, I am a happy, healthy person, and most of it is due to this book.
And, of course, fresh air and exercise usually helps, too.

When I need an energy boost, I drink a cup of burdock tea -- you can buy it in a health food store ---- put some honey in it as it has a very strong earthy flavor which may not be too your liking, but it does give your system a good healthy kick and then I go for a little run.
