Ok this is a weird question so bare with me. I just recently switch from pads to tampons, which i love! Well as much as you can, anyway I just started my period today and I would usually wear a pad for a day or two and then switch to tampons. If you just started and are heavy can you wear tampons to begin with?

Yes... totally! You never have to wear a pad, if you don't wish to. A liner is sometimes a good idea for when you can't change as quickly as you should.

yes, but make sure you're using the highest level tampon so it absorbs more--such as "super" instead of "regular" in the Playtex brand. Always use the lowest level of absorbancy as is necessary, so use the "super" ones for only your first few days.
I believe a lot of tampon-makers now sell them in a variety box, where part will be "super" part "regular" and part "low" so that you can have all the levels you need depending on your different flow on different days of your period. If you're still worried about leaks, just use a pantiliner along with your tampon and you should be good to go!

Yes, I have been doing it for years...I think the only time i used pads was my very first period. If your period is very heavy for the first few days, then get the higher absorbency tampons and wear a thin liner in case of leaks.

oooo i see what you mean. you already had it, your just starting another month? AHA im smart :P haha anyways, yeah sure you can go ahead and use tampons on your first day as long as its heavy enough. like if its really light the first day just wear a pad and then when it gets heavier go on to the tampons. but if its like moderate/ heavy flow go ahead with tampons

You can put keep a pad on until you see if the tampon works for you.

Every woman is different and you may have to try different absorbency's until you find the one for you.

Yeah you can. Just be sure that the size of the tampon is appropriate for how heavy you're flowing. I mean, if you're bleeding really light, don't use a super tampon just to avoid changing it for awhile.

Yes if it's heavy wear the super ones. I know a few friends who still bleed through a little bit so you might want to wear a panty liner also until you see if that's your case or not.

Yes, make sure they are higher absorbency (although not the highest, as you'd run a higher risk of getting Toxic Shock Syndorme), and use a pantiliner with it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of tampons! ;)

yes...just get super if your flow is heavy.

I know Tampax Pearl has a really good variety pack that has all sizes so you don't have to buy different sizes.

If you're still insecure, just wear a pantyliner with the tampon...you should be fine.

Yes this is perfectly safe, I haven't used a pad in years. Just be sure to use the right absorbancy. And yes there is the risk of TSS, but that risk is there at all times and it only affects like one in a million women.
