After you complete a job as an independent contract on 1099, how soon are you supposed to get that 1099 form? It's been a month, and this guy who took me for a bargain on 1099 has not mailed me the 1099 form. Is this normal to wait more than a month?

You will get it in January. That's when all tax forms are mailed out - 1099, W2, etc. You usually get them at the end of January.

You get the 1099 form in January or end of December or somewhere towards Tax Time.

Contact this guy and mention to him that you will need this form, He should ALREADY KNOW THIS and find out just when he plans on mailing this too you, I would not worry, And you can call the IRS and ask them a Rep. Will let you know just what to do. By doing this that will take care of everything. But if the form is for this years earnings you have until April 15, 2007 till you need the form. Take Care

It's a tax statement, like a W-2. You'll get it in February, because they have until Jan. 31st to mail it out to you. You know you'll be responsible for your own taxes on that earning right? Nothing was withheld out of it.
