Yes it is correct.

You can always move a term from one side of the equation to the other side of the equation as long as you change its sign. This is called transposition.

Starting with x-5 = t, add the same thing to both sides of the equal sign. Add +5.
Now you've got x - 5 + 5 = t + 5
Notice that you can group (-5+5) on the left side and simpify it to zero.
x + (-5+5) = t + 5
x + (0) = t + 5
zero plus a number is that number, so
x = t + 5

When you move the -5 over the equals sign (=) you also do the opposite sign so subtraction becomes addition!
