As a dance teacher and researcher in flexibility training, I suggest 3 things.

1) One is to do very long stretches while you are reading, doing homework, etc.

2) The second is a specific technique: Place yourself in a stretching posture, for example sitting on the floor in second position (straight legs open wide.) Then contract the muscles of the backs of the legs strongly for 10 seconds, then relax into the stretch for 15 seconds. By contracting the same muscles you are trying to stretch, you create a reflex that allows the muscles to further stretch. Repeat several times.

3) Stretching in a sauna or hamman (steam room) is incredible. You will immediately experience a large gain in flexibility. Some of this gain can be maintained when you return to normal temperatures.

Never stretch briskly - it leads to small muscle tears which will create scar tissue, which has no flexibility. Steady painless pressure provides the best results.

ballet and yoga have the best techniques for stretching, and the more you do it the better.
Make a daily routine for yourself of stretching at least twice a day. In the morning and afternoon or evening. The best thing you can do is stretch a lot and stretch often.

Just keep stretching and be patient. Stretch everyday, but don't over do it. Whatever happens, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT POP YOUR LEGS!!!!!
You can risk being paralyzed and all kinds of stuff.
