Because people believe that sinning is more enjoyable than following God's rules that he set forth very clearly in the bible. In addition, our country (and many others) have made it there agenda to abandon the same religous principles that our country was founded on on the false claim of separation of church and state. The separation of church and state was created to protect the church from the state; not the other way around. The bible states that God destroyed earth & all the people with a great flood (Noah built an ark and survived with his family and all the animals) because society had become so evil and corrupt. I believe he will do the same soon, because we've allowed our society to become likewise so violent and corrupt. Sinners think they have some kind of right to freely sin and its nobody's business but there own. How sad.
In the end, everyone (government included) should look down upon sin, which includes homosexuality. Gay pride parades should be booed (or better yet, prohibited), just as if murderers were having Murder pride parades. Makes no sense.

Not everyone believes the same way. The bible can be interrupt a million different ways. As I understand it everyone is born a sinner and Jesus died for everyones sins so they can get into heaven. Does it suddenly matter what the sin is? Many sins get looked past but yet homosexuality and atheism is a big deal. It isn't embraced all over the world. Some places accept it yes, but yet there is still a lot of hate toward it. I guess there goes "love thy neighbor" huh?
The way I see it is you do not have to accept someones choice but you can at least respect that it is their choice and not your place to judge.

The simple fact of the matter is that there are many different interpretations of the Bible. Some people say the Bible states homosexuality and ahteism are sinful, some people would argue the Bible states the opposite. The fact is that you should decide for yourself. Just becuase I believe in a God doesn't mean I expect everyone else in the world to agree with me. This is a decision for each individual and should be respected.
As for the homosexuality part of the question, I strongly disagree that it is a sin. I have a relative who is gay, and she and her partner are just as in love as a man and woman can be. There is no difference in my mind - love is love. If you could see the way a gay couple really acts in the world - not through the media - you would understand that there is nothing wrong with it.

I guess in the last hundred or so years, people are becoming far less interested in religion and more interested in their own lives and in money. Furthermore, there are more and more disillusioned people out there. Following the World Wars and general life in the last century with a decline in morals and values, people have probably lost all interests in following any doctrines and seek only to satisfy themselves. That doesnt extend to atheism and homosexuality alone, but many aspects of life.
I guess thats why. Another reason maybe the advent more educated people. Before, when the Church was a really powerful authority and people were either not educated enough to read, the Priest in the area was one of the most important people. Now, since education is becoming more widespread, and people are maybe not beleiving in the Bible so much because of their education.
I myself am not a Christian, but I do beleive very much in my religion. I sometimes ask myself the same questions, but at the same time, you need to keep an open mind. what others believe is up to them.
I ll finish up with a quote from my religion (which is more or less right, i dont have it memorized but its something to this effect):
Oh non-beleivers, I do not worship what you worship, nor have I worshipped what you worship, nor will I worship what you worship. You have your religion and I have mine.
In my opinion that is a message of tolerance. That was from Islam by the way.

The teachings of the bible are irrelevant -- it has too many errors to be useful as a guide for anything. Atheism is embraced because it is a useful concept which, unlike religion, cannot be proven to be wrong. Homosexuality simply exists, and since it is harmful only to the genetic code of homosexuals, it is not a moral issue. The concept of sin is useless -- think about its definition, and you will see why.

~~~ lakersboy ,,, Firstly lad, they are NOT being "embraced in the World today". ,,, they are simply Being Accepted as Norms in Culture. This is Logical Evolution of Mankind's Collective Conciousness and Intellect. As History has shown Mankind has developed his Scientific Understanding of himself and his Environment, including The Cosmos. So much now to the point that he has essentially eliminated most of his gods and demigods and is down to only One. And he knows now with his Awareness that The Earth is not The Center of The Universe,,, nor even the center of our puny little Solar System. And when The Masses are no longer satisfied to be misled by The Clergy and their claims of heresy being punished in hell forever, then we can finally be rid of The Great Supreme Being in The Sky and get down to some Real Soul Growth and Truly establish a "Heaven" on Earth.
Well, not everyone uses the bible as their frame of reference. Why would an atheist, who doesn't believe that there is a God, much less that the bible is the Word of God care whether it says what they are doing is a sin? The bible also says that everyone is a sinner and that there are not big sins and little sins, there are only sins. You are no better than anyone else, no less a sinner. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
They have been vilified and defended. The more they are vilified, the more they are defended. Some see that defense as embracing. It is actually a manifestation of a live-and-let-live approach to life/
This really isn't about the God-fearing vs the godless. It is about the obligation many religious folks feel to go beyond observing their own moral code to the point where they must insist others do.
The reasons are more than one. They're being embraced because this is satan's work & it's satan that's causing this. Many people are bound by homosexual demons and many other types including demons of unbelief.(Atheism) It's demons that are causing this rebellion & abominatons,called alternative lifestyles but all of this is rebellion and abominable. The way of evil will not prosper,you can trust god on that.
It's not so much that homosexuals are atheists...many homosexuals (like myself) are moreso agnostic. Meaning, we know there's a higher being out there, but why embrace something that excludes a person based on their sexual preference. Would you continue believing something that says that you're condemned to hell because you have a different sexual preference than what is accepted by the Bible?
