I am not, personally. But are you? Why (besides just the multiple partners). Many people now who just sleep around with so many partners. Would it be better for them to just be able to marry 3, 4 or 5 people? & what about women with multiple husbands? Why cant it be both ways for equality sake?

It sounds more like you're talking about polyamory.

Except for the marriage part, it hits everything you have mentioned.

Being polyamorous, I'll tell you that it's rarely about the sex. No more than you having a someone you date or would marry is about the sex.

Having multiple partners is both very rewarding and extremely difficult. You have to do a helluva lot of communicating, if you want to keep things together. You have to deal with your own insecurities and jealousies.

I dated my ex-bf and ex-gf for a while, breaking up about a year ago. Lack of communication was a serious part of it. He wasn't much into talking or about the compromise needed when you are with more than one person. Eventually I had to leave them. I am still very much in love with them.

I've quite a few friends with very long-term, loving relationships. Good friends of my wife and I are two couples that live together. They are all intimate with each other, except for the guys (straight). They been together for a very long time and have 10 kids. When the kids are old enough, they are usually told what the situation is, but the younger ones just consider it normal to have 4 parents. Strangely enough, the quad (a four person group, like that) is pretty politically conservative. I'm hoping they'll grow out of it. :)

Polyamory is by no means for everyone. For some of us, it's the only ethical answer, to keep from cheating.

I wouldn't support it but for the people who do we'll just have to respect that. I personally don't think that Americans would pass polygamy but I wouldn't care if they do. By the way, one guy said it was "polyamory" but that's just the old fashioned way of saying "polygamy."

I'm fine with polygamy. It's not for me, but I can see its appeal.

Um...not a good idea...I'll just leave it at that.
