It's an essay, that provides additional evidence of your intellectual and creative achievements. The essay is also the only opportunity you will get to express things that wil allow your potential employers to see you as a person as well as for your qualifications. You can also put your academic record into the context of your opportunities and obstacles.
nice tip, if you have had any great disapointments in your education, young life, turn them on thier head, and use them to illustrate the reason you want to stop other young folks making similar mistakes.

Everyone needs a little help sometimes and there are ways of writing a good one and ways of writing a bad one. I would never have got accepted on my diploma course or interviewed for my job without a little help. There is no problem with asking for help, we weren't born knowing everything and asking is a way of learning! So ask away my friend!
