Women aren't necessarilly smarter than men, but they do have some qualities that are sometimes better than men, just as men have some qualities that are better than women! Whether this is due to nurture or nature, is a whole other discussion, but I'd like to point out that you can't always make blanket statements about what women "are" and what men "are" because there is so much grey area, and many people do deviate from the "norm" and cliche gender roles that society, or our genes, put us into. A lot of times women and men need each other, because we tend to balance each other out. As a woman, I do think more women should be in powerful roles. Not because they are SMARTER, or because I want them to take over the world, but because equality is very important, and the woman's opinion and voice needs to be heard and paid attention to much more than it is. I don't know if I am biased, but I can't help but look around and see a lot less women that are slutty, evil, angry, etc. as compared to men. So maybe in regards to morals, values, and emotions, they are a LITTLE smarter... ;)

First off, men aren't the cause of all wars. Remember Margaret Thatcher and the Falklands War?
No, women aren't smarter than men. Nor are men smarter than women.
While it's true that SOME women MAY express their emotions easier than SOME men, men's life expectance is shorter because men's health issues are ignored by government and the health care community. Compare and contrast breast cancer vs. prostate cancer (number of diagnoses, lethality, and research dollars).
Your "Gender Studies" prof would be happy at how well your indoctrination is coming along. Try thinking for yourself for a while. You never know, you might like it.

I think men lack the emotional need for decision making. I always have the feeling they want only a good out come for themselves.
With women, its known, they think of yesterday, today and tomorrow before making a decision. And after a good cry they always have a cleared head and can see clear again.
The greatest men in history always had a women to advise them.
I think it will only work if we work together. What else can we do? We need each other!

I think men and women are basically the same (except for the obvious plumbing and hormonal differences).
Women haven't started as many wars as men because, historicaly, men have had a monopoly on political power.
When women have had the chance, they can be just as agressive as men (like when Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir launched a suprise attack on Egypt, Jordan and Syria in 1967 or when Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi invaded East Pakistan in 1970 and imposed Martial Law on India in 1975)
It's stereotypical to think that intelligence is based on gender, or one gender thinks one way and the other thinks the other way.
Women ARE raised differently than men and that accounts for what few behavioral differences there really are
Bottom line, male or female, we're all people, we're all equal, and we all have equal capacity to do good or evil.

85% of Afghan women are illiterate.(source)
Doesn't mean they are less smarter, only persecuted and beaten into submission by their satanic islamic rules and insecure males and fascist war lords.
In the rural communities "life remains the same as it was under the taliban". (quote; Hussn Banu Ghazanfar. Minister for Women's Affairs)
All American muslim women should be ashamed. Five years that America has tried to bring equal justice and freedom and the palestine women herd to defend murders (what fools,- but they would be beaten or worse)
PS: muslim Women ! I have not offended you. Only we have no power in the islamic communities except to point out the disparity and insanity.

Women generally have a better attention span, better capacity for empathy and concentration...do better at school and university etc so, yes, it would seem that they are smarter than 'us'...but do not make any mistakes - the female is the deadlier of the species....this transcends the animal kingdom and humanity is no exception. Expressing your feelings doesn't affect your longevity...but I'm sure an Italien man expresses his feelings better than a British woman - that's cultural and then individual. So, all in all, a mixed bag. If it makes you good to feel 'better' than half of the human race, then just focus on the first part of this answer.

No, I don't think so, but there are some women out there that are quite smart. You can't measure intelligence by gender nor by measuring intelligence vs. intelligence. Each person shows many different kinds of intelligence. Measuring human intelligence is more complicated than many other things.

Comparing intelligence between the sexes is like comparing peanut butter to jelly. By themselves they have their own unique tastes and together they make one hell of a sandwich.
