does everyone that has their period ovulate??

How do i know if i am?? do i have a dishcarge? yesterday i had some white discharge but is that what ovulation is?

Getting your period generally means that you have started ovulating, yes.
However, if you're on birth control, then you probably don't ovulate, and certainly don't do so regularly, as stopping ovulation is the primary goal of birth control pills. (When you're on birth control, the periods you get are more pseudo-periods than anything else.)

Either way, ovulation is when your ovaries release an egg that is ready to be fertilized; during ovulation is when you're at the highest risk of pregnancy. It is generally accomplanied with an increase of vaginal discharge; this is one of the indications that people using the rhythm method use to know when they are ovulating. The temperature in your uterus also increases during this period, in preparation for potentially incubating a fetus.

So, your discharge is definitely normal, and you're probably ovulating on a more-or-less monthly basis.

All women ovulate....usually after we have our periods. You will know you are ovulating because you will be wet down there more (more discharge), and you will be horny and want to have sex more than usual. Those are some ways you will know you are ovulating. Like I said, usually ovulation starts right after your period.

yes. when you quit ovulating your periods stop as to what you go through when menopause happens
