I have a 2004 Nissan Altima, and only had it for 8 months. It suddenly turned of on me while driving. And it has the engine maintenance light on. I have a warranty on the car but is this something that I will need to pay out of my pocket? When it turned of I was able to turn it back on again. But, it did again later in the afternoon. Someone please help.

Loose battery cables will cause it. Check them by wiggeling them If they are loose tighten them.
Since the engine maintenance light is on though, you may have an emmissions problem.

PVC valve is one thing to consider and really common to cause this. Can be replaced at an oil change place. (under $20.00)

My bet would be a computer problem but the best idea is have the dealer check it. computers or sensors should all be covered. And if it's small they may not charge anyway.

definitely check the battery cables for looseness. It could also possibly be a computer controlled ignition problem.

Take it in and have it looked at. They will tell you whether or not it's a covered repair.
