Oooh, I can't stand it when she drives! She has no concept what-so-ever the boundaries of the car, she's either on the gas or the brake, lane changes are note smooth, she freaks out if someone is near her and forget about left turns....It isn't a control issue, it's like riding with a 15 yr old. If she didn't drive so ridiculously, I'd love to take the passenger seat and enjoy the view, but I just can't relax when she's behind the wheel. To top it off, when I'm driving, she's a 'back seat driver' in the passenger seat...ARRrrrr...sometimes I just want to run the car into a bridge support......

It could be a control issue, it could be you are a bad driver.

How can we tell?

I don't feel like less of a man, but it sure makes me nervous when one of you ladies is 6' from the car in front of us driving around in town.

I don't care who is driving, tailgating drives me nuts, and in town, where cars can pull out of shops and driveways, it makes me a nervous wreck.

So, if he shares such a concern with you, and you blow it off, then I have to question who has the real control issue, him for stating his concern, or you for effectively telling him that he shouldn't worry about it by ignoring what he has stated.

Just a scenario. One I've lived.

From a man's point of view. I get paranoid when anybody else drives me. It has more to do with not being in control of the car and less to do with control of the person. It's more of a safety issue. He wants to protect you and he cant do that if he's not in control of the car.

You might ask him to think to him self that "she drives all of the time, she's not going to do anything to hurt herself."

Just relax, still it is hard to do. Some people are just that way. Dont take it personal, if anything keep at it, he'll get used to it eventually. Also you might want to avoid putting on makup, using your cell phone and road rage with him in the car. ;-)

My hubby doesn't like driving my car anyway....'85 Cadillac DeVille(enough said) and I don't like sitting in the passenger seat in my own car. But, most guys want to feel in control when they are going somewhere. Like they will feel more of a man because they drove to the grocery store or something. Good luck! :)

My husband does the same thing to me.I don't like to drive with him in the car.He will ask me to drive because he doesn't like to drive my jeep. But then the whole way to were we are going. He acts like I am the worse driver ever huffing and puffing at me.I think in some cases it is jealousy.I think in my husbands case It is just that.I know that there are some bad women drivers but I also know that I am not one of them.I've never been in an accident except ones my husband caused.I have never had so much has a parking ticket. Were he has wrecked all of my cars with the exception of my new jeep.I personally got tired of hearing him in the car that I finally told him about himself and his driving. My Mom says that it is my fault he does this to me because I hurt his pride.

My man is like that too. I just tell him to stay home if he doesn't like my driving. He said it isn't my driving, it's just that he feels like someone else is controlling his car which he doesn't like. Of course, I'm the same way when I'm sitting in the passenger seat of my car while he drives. It can and does work both ways.

its a guy thing. My hubby wants to tell me how to get to where i'm going by taking the routes he does. As far as my just my driving goes-he doesnt say anything about that. I just tell him when he drives he can go the way he wants to and when I drive i will go the way I want to.

I seldom drive. I like to sit back and relax. It works- he likes being in charge of transportation and I like messing with the radio, talking, taking off my shoes, watch the scenery. I do feel a slight tension vibe from him when I do drive, but he never says anything.

Yes! I know exactly what you mean! My husband acts so childish...he bugs me so much when i drive him...that it usually ends in a fight! I can't stand it!! I'm like,"Contrary to what you might think...I do manage to drive when you aren't with me!!" UGGG...my hubby has the attitude as the "Yeah" guy!

My husband is a heavy equipment operator and wants to drive our vehicles like 18 wheelers. I can't stand for him to drive my car, and he hates to ride with me. I guess if I don't tailgate people and cuss and swerve all over, I am not a good driver !!
