because thats where ghettos are created and lazniess comes in.. people have babies dont take care of them.. and live off our money and dont try to better themselves just take advantage of everything dont understand this...why does this happen... but I RESPECT THE ONES WHO Work hard and try to not have welfare someday.. but i dont see that often

I think it's okay to have it, as long as there's a process there. People proving themselves, looking for work, trying to better themselves. Not just sucking off the government teat.
I hate entitlement. The American public owes nothing to your lazy, deadbeat a*s.

Without welfare, I would not have survived a hard time in my life and would not have been able to pull out of it.
I agree that welfare is often abused, but welfare should certainly exist. Why take away something that is helping the honest people because of the lazy thieves? That's about as fair as giving a whole class detention because many, but not all, of the students were unruly.

No i do not. Welfare is most often abused by teenage mothers that shouldnt have gotten knocked up in the first place or unwed grown women with more than one baby's father. I do not believe that we should let ppl mooch off of our hard earned money. Yes there are ppl that need it but I am so tired of hearing women brag about their welfare money and how they are going to spend it on themselves and not the child.

welfare should be there for people who actually need a helping hand in coming out of poverty and really want to work to make a better life for themselves and their family.some people need welfare to boost them in the right direction after a layoff,death in the family that causes income loss,single mothers,single dads,etc.that was the intent of welfare,its the system that has allowed people to abuse it,abuse of welfare would be reduced if there were more emphasis on studying and researching recipients

yes. but in my profession i have seen it abused time and time again. even with the abuse, it does help children to eat, dress warm and find shelter.
