Is it safe to remove the fan from the 3d fuzion nvidia 7300le 256mb and apply AS5?

I just purchased A 3d fuzion nvidia 7300le 256 mb ddr video card.
I decided to remove the fan and the heat sink and apply aritc silver 5. The fan is so loud and so I just want to remove it. Is it ok to do that or just leave it? I have done applying thermal paste before on my other cards. Thanx

You can apply the grease fine, but don't leave the fan off because your card will overheat. If you just got it and the fan is making lots of noise, it could be bad...contact whoever you bought it from and get it replaced.
