Yes, the additional fluid helps the sperm to swim better, and have a greater chance of creating a baby.
Some people think that a woman squirts her fluid like a man does, but this is generally not the case. The vagina contracts rapidly during an orgams, which gives her the felling of squirting, but in reality the muscles contract in such a way as to pull the seman inside her.
This is why it feels so good when a man and woman c u m together. He's penis is quirting out seman and her vigina is contracting around it, pulling it deeper insider her.

Although I agree with Exencee's answer, I have to say that the external part of the clitoris is tiny compare to the internal part, which runs up the side of the vagina. Modern people use sexual intercourse for pleasure and pair bonding, but there is a theory that orgasm actually tones up the vagina, and the peristaltic action (the spasms) help conduct sperm to the cervix. This may have been important in more primitive times, when forced intercourse by raiding males was more common.

The fluid that you produce during sex and even during an orgasm is to help "trap" the sperm. If the fluid is too thick it will not allow the sperm to move as freely and to there destination as if the fluid has a normal consistence. I hope this answer's your question.
