Because with most stereotypes, there is usually a grain of truth. But I have met many black people who defy all stereotypes. Like the one I knew who was a Republican, collected southern Civil War memorabilia(including Rebel flags) and HATED watermelons.

I don't know why but as with most stereotypes, it is true...
Stereotypes do not mean that 100% of the cases fit the description.
Stereotype simply mean that a high enough statistical number is
true to make it an accurate description or prediction...
Not 100% of Islamofaschist fanatical terrorist homocide bombers
are Mid-Eastern men between the ages of 18 and 28 but a statistically significant number of them are making it an accurate stereotype for Mid-Eastern men to be reasonably racially profiled and given extra scrutiny at airports...

No, the stereotypes are no longer real. it rather is the area you have been in. i'm black and that i'm no longer impolite, i've got by no ability stolen something from anyone in my finished existence (no longer even grapes from a food market) and that i consistently leave a minimum 15% tip, many times 20%. My kinfolk are the comparable and that i've got quite a few black buddies who're in certainty like me. You mentioned your self "maximum (no longer all)" in one particular area and recognized that the place you grew up you by no ability observed it. would not that permit you recognize that the stereotypes are no longer real?

Stereo types are true for a lot of races - not just black people. And they're not true for everyone in a race - just a majority typically.

On the contrary, many of the stereotypes are not true. Never assume anything. All white Southern people are not inbred, trailer-park dwelling UFO-seeing, rednecks who make moonshine. Some can actually carry on a halfway intelligent conversation.

Never ever assume all people of a certain group fit into the stereotype.

And remember this: we may all be different colors, but we all bleed red.

Stereotypes aren't randomly created. If a certain group of people tend to act in a certain way, a stereotype arises. However, nothing is absolute so there are a lot of people that don't fit their stereotype. For example, I know a lot of Asians who are bad in math and in school in general, really. I also know a lot of blacks who don't fit their stereotype. It's probably that you haven't met any black people who don't fit the stereotype, but you will sometime.

You didn't mention any particular stereotype.

As a black woman, I have heard so many stereotypes of black women, it's unreal.

Honestly, I don't fit either stereotype.

Well, maybe the "stuck up" or conceited type

Why do you care what black people are doing? What if I said that white people smell like puppies when they're wet. Thats a common stereotype. How many black people do you actually know and have conversations with? Or are you basing your opinions off what you see on TV? Black people like chicken... I don't. I'm a vegetarian. Black people like watermelon... I can't stand it. Black people are on welfare. Nope, not me... I've held a constant job since I was 14. I'm 27 and I don't have any kids. None of my family or friends have ever been in jail. I could go on and on.

Like what? That they are ALL good dancers and have a perfect sense of rhythm? Is it the watermelon thing? I wish you would be more specific. And WHAT are the stereotypical Whites like? Do we all dance badly and have cold hearts? Do we look down on other races? Ask your question again, with more detail.

Okay paramount, your avatar depicts you as a light skinned black male so change it...and stereotypes are biased and idiotic ways of society trying to promote some kind of superiority bs. Sterotypes you should think about are dumb blondes, lazy mexicans etc. You are a freakin idiot.
