the 2006-2007 UEFA Champions' League knock-out stage draw will pit the teams finished first in the group against the other group runners-up. no teams from the same country or group will be drawn together. the teams that finished as runners-up in the group stage will host the first leg of the knock-out stage while the group winners will host the return leg.
the draw will be an open affair from the quarter-final & semi-final stage. it means that there will be a possiblity that teams from the same country can be drawn together.

A group winner will play a group runner-up.
Teams from same country cannot play each other.
Other than that, anything goes. All depends on the luck of the draw.

the winners are put in their pot and the runners up ina different one and the winners draw the runnner ups. But a team can not draw a runner up from their group, for example if celtic win the group and manchester are the runner ups, they may not be paired in the last 16, AND also a team can not draw another team from its country, for example if arsenal win their group and manchester are second in theirs, they may not be paired meaning to say english teams will not be paired together, italian teams will also not be paired and that goes for the germans and the spanish teams. hope it helps to calrify things for you. GOOD LUCK to man utd {I AM A GOONER}
