should i get guitar hero 1 or 2?

I have both and both have aspects I like better. Number 1, I like the song listing better. It has a lot of songs and bands that I really enjoy. number 2 however, has the cool feature of cooperative play. You can get with a friend and play together on the same song instead of competing against each other. you can play bass, lead or rhythm depending on the song. So if you're going to be playing solo, go for number 1. That's my opinion anyway. But truthfully, I don't think you'll be disappointed with either. It's an awesome game.

I was considering the same thing, I am curious to see what people say. I have asked a few people about it, and so far I am thinking that it is going to be good to start with Guitar Hero I.

if you love classic rock and "hair metal", and/or you have a friend who is enthusiastic about playing, get guitar hero 2. coop mode and a large selection of songs makes it awesome

if you like more contemporary music, go with guitar hero 1. its tracks are more recognizeable.

if youre rich, get em both.

they both have a great song selection, so either one would be good. but gh2 has a duet mode so you can play with a friend, plus there is the possibility of downloading song onto the game. so i say guitar hero 2
