Can I use the xbox 360 live vision camara without being online?

Question

I want to buy the xbox 360 live vision camara so I can take a picture of myself for my managers profile on football manager 2007.

I was just wondering will it work without my xbox 360 being connected to the internet?

I am going to get the internet connection set up after christmas but would the camara take pictures and save them without me being on Xbox live?

The Xbox 360 camera can be used without xbox live, you can change the background effect to have 3 effects (watery,lines & none) however you will need the august dashboard update to be able to use the camera. You can get these updates without a xbox live account, just plug your Xbox 360 into the internet, and goto create new xbox live account, the next screen will say dedecting xbox live and it will automagicly update!!

unfortunatly you cannot take/save pictures to your own Xbox a program hasn't been designed for that at this time, there is one in development and is due for release in 2007, all you can do, is take a picture and send it to a friend using xbox live.

The camera is Xbox live dependent however it will work offline but you will be very restricted to what you can do with it. My advice buy Xbox live (no need for a credit card anymore) then buy a camera!

i hav an additional question. i am looking at buying an xbox 360, but more as a multi-media center. i will still play games but dont need to be playing on xbox live. if i get the wifi adapter, will i b able to still use my online netflix, facebook, etc. w/o paying 4 xbox live, or will i have to pay the fees if i want to use the net?

im not sure but probably because the camera is connected to the 360 right? why wouldnt u b able to?

yeah you can as the 360 powers the camera and you can still scan your face in the new rainbow six vegas as well
