Over time, yes.. but not over night. Responsibility is a learned skill.

If by the age of 30 he has not become responsible at least to some extent he may never. Of course he will change when he is older that 50 but you don't want to wait around that long.

A man should already know where he is going in life and at least be responsible and reliable. If not he is not a good mate for a woman.

Why limit this to men? Is it possible for anyone of the age of 30 to change and be responsible?

Sure, if they are willing to do the necessary work.

Gender isn't the driving factor, it's character. Character is a genderless trait.

No. I know several men of that age and there is no way they would change unless they were seriously dedicated to it. There is no way for someone to change anyone, no matter their age. So unless this man has some sort of revalation (and sometimes that doesn't even work), there isn't a chance.

Maybe 27 or 28 years of age is capable of change, but 30 may be crossing the line because at that age your prefence files may be written in stone.
(don't take this too seriously - I'm adding this comment because I don't know you)

Let me guess: staying with him because you think you can mold him into the man you really want. I say just leave it alone if he's not hurting you in some way. If it's a major problem like drugs or something, leave him.

He could be immature for life. If he changes, it has to be his own doing. Nothing you say is going to make a difference. I would move on and find a guy who's got it together already. Believe it or not, they do exist.
