how to optomise my website on search engines?

I have a website but when I type in the most search keyword in my industry in for example google or yahoo , I don't see my website, can any one help ?

What you need to do is read a good tutorial like this one http://www.seo-blog.com/tutorial.php

Remember there are NO short cuts to effective optimization and if you do it properly it is quite hard work...

You have to sign up for that which does cost money please do keep in mind. Search around your website host to find it. That will probably work. Second of all you might research under domain names.
