If your best friend is talking about you behind your back in a bad way, the first thing I would have to recommend is to make sure they're saying what you think they're saying about you. Ask the people you heard they were telling bad things about you to if it is true that they said 'blah blah blah'; you may just be jumping to conclusions or having incorrect sources. If you find out that yes, they are spreading rumors about you or saying bad things behind your back about you, the best way to solve the problem is to confront them about it. Ask them something like, "I heard you said this and this and this about me to so and so. Is that true?" Most likely if it was true they may deny it and if you feel they really did say something bad about you, you'd be right to down your trust in them. But don't close down your friendship with them just yet. Just stop telling them any super big secrets and stick with the ones that you wouldn't care that much if they got out. And I know it sucks not being able to dish about things that are super-embarrassing, but if you really need to get them out right them in a diary or talk to a family member (example: older sister).

Real best friends don't talk about you behind your back.

Do you honestly know this for sure?

If so: Confront her about it and ask her why she is talking about you behind your back. If she denies it or acts wierd, then dump her. Tell her real best friends don't talk about each other behind their backs.

Find a real friend.

This person is not your best friend if it is indeed true. First, confront the person - in a non-confrontational way. Simply ask them if what you heard they said about you is true. You'll know if they are telling the truth or not. If you even think it is true - they are not your best friend.

Hope it's not true.

Why even ask that question it is a simple answer that you should already know, Ask her what the deal is, and see what she has to say. Then if she lies and says she isn't then confront her with what you know, and then dump her as your friend that is the simplest thing to do

Confront them first of all for if they are really your best friend then they wouldn't do that to you. The longer you let it go the more upset you'll become.

Come to the understanding your best friend is not really your best friend. She has lost your trust. Keep it that way.

Clearly, they are not your best friend. Quietly start hanging around other people who respect you and will take your friendship seriously.
